About
FMBHS

Family Matters Behavioral Health Services (FMBHS) was founded with an aim of enhancing awareness of the significance of mental health and to encourage the community to prioritize holistic well-being. At FMBHS, we believe that family is the foundation of a sound mind and general well-being of an individual- and a healthy family is created through healthy and confident parenting…. because- confident parents raise strong children, strong children build durable communities, durable communities build a strong world!
At FMBHS, we want to assist in enhancing cultural awareness towards the mental health needs of the Desi community, promote healthier ways to cope with intergenerational trauma and help foster wellness in relationships. We work with immigrants and children of immigrants to help improve communication styles, set realistic expectations, and encourage expansion of perspectives on life decisions. Here you can find useful resources to help gain a better understanding of your relational dynamics and insights into building resiliency.
About Me
Hi, I am Omarpreet! If you’re feeling stuck in a negative cycle of anxiety, depression or relationship problems, I’m here to help you overcome these obstacles. Together we will work on restoring peace and confidence into your life. I’m a Marriage and Family Therapist with a mission of helping make meaningful and visible growth in my clients’ lives. In the last 14 years I have worked with a vast number of clients who have attained impressive resilience and insight through evidence-based therapies.
I have always been passionate about maximizing human potential to create and uphold loving relationships, clarity of thought and decision-making. Being a South Asian immigrant myself, I understand the struggles you experience within and outside of family. I have been working with many immigrant parents, individuals and families from India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka to navigate culturally sensitive concerns while living in US. So if you are a South Asian parent or a second-generation child of your immigrant parents, you’re at the right place!
